Al Dente
2025
24 Hours (IT)

Al dente is a kitchen clock with dual functionality. One half tells the time whilst the other half provides a mechanical clockwork timing function of up to 1 hour of elapsed time with an alarm.

The design is intended to be wall mounted, robust, honest and minimal in its aesthetic, embodying very much the ‘less is more’ approach with its choice of materials and composition of components. The exterior casing is clear matte anodised aluminium, contrasting nicely with the highly legible white gloss lacquer dials and matte black indices. A generous rotary knob on the clockwork timer dial and adjacent cover plate mask the numerals and indices, providing clear real-time feedback during the timing of an event, whether it’s pasta on the hob or bread in the oven.

Al Dente was designed and created together with Hugo Passos. 24 Hours was an exhibition at Riviera creative space in Milan, curated by Jamie Wolfond Studio and Simple Flair in collaboration with La Palma Design.
